How I work
I have two sorts of clients – direct and contract – and my time splits roughly equally between them.
- Direct clients are those I arrange work with myself, independently. Where the work requires skills or hours I can’t cover I will look for others to join with me – with client approval.
- Contract clients are other consulting firms I join on a project-by-project basis, usually becoming an integral, client-facing member of their consulting teams.
“Full time” assignments in my world are four days a week, except for specific and very short duration requirements such as 2-3 week due diligence diagnostics.
I have a self contained office on Auckland’s North Shore and can base myself there, at a client’s, or at a partner firm’s office. As needed, I travel around New Zealand and also across the Tasman although the latter carries a higher per diem.
